If the person being fed misjudges the spoon, or sees it late, can a blind feeding arm still do without a camera?

research/osrobot-leannoise

If the person being fed misjudges the spoon or sees it late, can a blind feeding arm still do without a camera? A 20 mm misjudgement drops the blind arm's safe share from 1.00 to 0.60 (camera arm 0.78); stylised, extends osrobot-lean.

What it found

A stdlib extension of osrobot-lean's planar feeding-arm twin in which the user leans toward a perceived spoon position that is delayed and offset by a per-feed misjudgement (200 paired trials per row, 30 mm sway, 0.20 m/s, 100 mm/s lean). A blind arm's share of feeds with peak lip force at most 2 N falls from 1.00 with a perfect leaner to 0.83, 0.60 and 0.47 at 10, 20 and 40 mm of misjudgement, and only 0.50 of feeds reach the mouth at 40 mm; the camera arm falls from 0.97 to 0.69 and always feeds. A perception delay of up to 0.2 s changes little; 1.0 s drops the blind arm to 0.46. Stylised: constant offset, assumed constants, no safety case.
