Since 20 May 2026, Grailed's commission is 6% on a sale under $120 (minimum $1.99) and 9% on a sale of $120 or more, plus 3.49% + $0.49 payment processing on a domestic sale. The tier is a step. At $120 the 9% rate applies to the whole sale, so some higher prices pay you less than a lower one. The figures below are the same arithmetic the Grailed fee calculator runs; the rates come from third-party fee guides, so check one real payout.
| Item price | Commission | Processing | You keep | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $20.00 | $1.99 (minimum) | $1.19 | $16.82 | 15.9% |
| $50.00 | $3.00 (6%) | $2.24 | $44.77 | 10.5% |
| $100.00 | $6.00 (6%) | $3.98 | $90.02 | 10.0% |
| $119.99 | $7.20 (6%) | $4.68 | $108.11 | 9.9% |
| $120.00 | $10.80 (9%) | $4.68 | $104.52 | 12.9% |
| $200.00 | $18.00 (9%) | $7.47 | $174.53 | 12.7% |
Raising the price by one cent, from $119.99 to $120.00, cuts what you keep by $3.59. The dead zone runs from $120.00 to about $124.09; a price of $124.10 is the first that nets what $119.99 does ($108.11).
Shipping the buyer pays you on your own label is added to the sale before the tier is chosen, so the cliff sits that much lower in item-price terms. With $12 of buyer-paid shipping, an item at $108 puts the sale at $120 and the 9% rate applies to all $120; the same $3.59 drop applies, and the break-even price is $112.10. With a Grailed label the buyer's shipping goes to the carrier, so only the item price counts and the cliff stays at $120.
Until 20 May 2026 every sale paid 9%. A $50 item then kept $43.27 and now keeps $44.77, so cheaper items got cheaper to sell. At $200 the old and new schedules agree at $174.53. Many articles and fee calculators still show only the flat 9%, which overstates the fee under $120.
The Grailed fee calculator runs this on your own item price, shipping, label and cost, solves for the price that hits a target profit (below the cliff when that is cheaper), and shows the old flat 9% and an international buyer side by side. A 6% commission ($6.00) plus 3.49% + $0.49 processing ($3.98), so a domestic seller keeps $90.02 -- a 10.0% effective rate. There is no listing fee, subscription or buyer fee.
At $120 the commission jumps from 6% to 9% on the whole sale, not just the part above $120. A $119.99 sale pays you $108.11 and a $120.00 sale pays $104.52, so you must list at about $124.10 to net what $119.99 does. Prices from $120.00 to $124.09 all pay less than $119.99.
If you were going to land between $120 and about $124, yes: $119 keeps more than any price in that band. Above about $124.10 the higher price wins again. The calculator shows both sides for your own shipping and label cost.
Only on small sales. 6% is less than $1.99 until the sale reaches $33.17, so a $20 sale pays $1.99 (about 10% of the sale) instead of $1.20, and the effective rate on a $20 item is 15.9% once processing is added.
