Keep this bid so it is still here when the customer calls back. Every number on this form is saved together, under a name you choose, along with the figure it gave you, and restoring one puts the whole job back exactly as you priced it. Mark each one won or lost when you hear — the ones you have not heard back on stay listed as waiting, with how long they have been out. Once a few have come back, this panel says how long yours actually take, and how many are still out past that. Once enough of them have been decided, it also says whether the bids you save here have been landing differently lately than they used to.

Your proposal
The client said yes? Turn an option into a draft agreement, or bill its deposit:

What it does and does not do
Plain-language sections, fixed rules. The proposal is assembled from your answers by a template, not by a model, so the same answers always give the same text.
Dates and money to the cent. Phases chain from your start date, the expiry date is counted from the proposal date, and each option's deposit and balance add up to its price exactly.
A private rate check. Enter your own hours for each option and a target hourly rate, and it shows what each option pays an hour and warns when one is under target. Neither number ever appears in the proposal.
Checks before you send. It tells you what is missing and flags what tends to lose or under-price a job: a single option, options priced too close together, no expiry, no timeline.
Not modelled: e-signature, tracking whether the client opened it, tax or VAT lines, discounts, and translation. A proposal is an offer, not a contract; use the contract maker once they say yes.
Common questions
Is this proposal maker really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no paywall on printing or downloading. It runs in your browser, so it costs nothing to serve, and it stays free.
What should a freelance proposal include?
The client's problem in their words, what you will deliver, a timeline with dates, a price, what you are assuming, why you, and what happens next. Put the problem first: a proposal that opens with your bio reads like a quote.
Why offer three options instead of one price?
One price invites a yes or no. Three options (a smaller scope, a standard one and a fuller one) turn the question into which one, and the middle option usually wins. The tool shows how far apart your options are so the top one is clearly bigger.
How long should a proposal be valid?
Fourteen days is common. An expiry date gives the client a reason to answer this week and protects you if your rates or calendar change. Set a proposal date and the tool works out the date for you.
How are the timeline dates worked out?
Each phase starts the day the previous one ends, counted in calendar days from your start date, so two weeks is fourteen days. The finish date is shown at the bottom. Weekends and holidays are not skipped.
Is a proposal a contract?
No. A proposal is an offer and a plan. Once the client picks an option, send a signed service agreement; Freelance Contract Maker builds one from the same details.
Where are my drafts stored?
In your browser on this device only. Clearing site data removes them, so use Download backup now and then. Nothing you type is uploaded.
