← Walmart Marketplace calculator
Sellers search this after a competing offer undercuts them and the Buy Box moves. The main calculator’s match field is one leftover on a completed sale at the lower ticket, so it cannot show whether the extra take covers that thinner unit. Holding the list keeps today’s leftover at today’s take. Permanently matching sells more of the sessions that already saw the listing, at the lower ticket, every day. A time-boxed promo uses the match ticket at a higher take for N days — before competitors react — then reverts.
On the default $24.99 home unit on WFS, permanently matching $21.99 at 70% take keeps $121.49 more than holding the list at 40% take ($640.48 vs $518.99) on 60 completed sales. A 10-day promo at 80% take is $589.99, $50.50 behind the match. The promo catches a permanent drop at about 17.1 days. Holding matches if match take falls to about 56.7%. A 20-day promo flips ahead of the permanent match by $20.50. A 50% match take and 50% promo take flip the leftover back to holding by $61.50.
| Path | Price | Take | Completed | Monthly leftover | vs hold |
|---|
Monthly leftover is take% × completed-sale profit × sessions, and sessions are completed sales divided by the hold take. Complementary to the unit-profit match on the main calculator (same take, lower ticket), to WFS vs seller fulfilled (a completed sale), to 2-day vs WFS (fulfillment vs take, price held), to returns vs WFS (a refund, not a price), to aged leftover vs a removal (units already inbound), and to Walmart Connect vs skip (buying traffic, price held). Paste the match price and take rates from your current Seller Center offer. This page does not publish Walmart’s live Buy Box rules.
The calculator is arithmetic, not advice. It does not recommend holding the list, permanently matching, or running a promo.
On the calculator defaults — a $24.99 home unit on WFS, 15% referral, $21.99 match, 60 completed sales at a 40% hold take, 70% match take, and a 10-day promo at 80% take — permanently matching keeps $121.49 more than holding the list ($640.48 vs $518.99). A 10-day promo is $589.99, $50.50 behind the match. The promo catches a permanent drop at about 17.1 days. Holding matches if match take falls to about 56.7%. This page does the arithmetic from the rates you enter; it does not recommend a price.
No. The main calculator re-runs the same costs at a lower ticket and holds take fixed, so it cannot show whether winning more of the Buy Box covers the thinner unit. This page mixes take rate with that thinner leftover, and a time-boxed promo that reverts. A completed-sale WFS versus seller table, a 2-day take-rate mix, a refund mix, aged leftover, and Walmart Connect ads are different squeezes.
When the promo is long enough that its higher take outweighs the days you spend back at the hold mix. On these defaults that is about 17.1 promo days in a 30-day month. A 20-day promo flips ahead of the permanent match by $20.50 ($660.98 vs $640.48). Replace the match price and take rates from your current Seller Center offer.
