BUSINESS INSURANCE POLICY READER · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

Find out if your business insurance meets your client's contract, and what it quietly excludes.

Paste the policy or declarations page. The page pulls out the policy period, per-occurrence and aggregate limits, deductible, premium and claims-made trigger, checks them against the limits your client contract requires, builds a renewal calendar you can add to your phone, and flags what buyers ask a broker about: defense costs inside the limit, professional services and subcontractor exclusions, contractual liability, actual cash value, coinsurance, long waiting periods. Each value shows the sentence it came from so you can check it.

The text is read in this browser tab and never leaves your device. It reads wording with fixed rules; it is not a broker or lawyer and does not decide what a claim would pay.

Common questions

What is the difference between claims-made and occurrence insurance?

An occurrence policy covers incidents that happen during the policy period, even if the claim arrives years later. A claims-made policy covers only claims made while it is in force, so letting it lapse can leave earlier work uncovered unless you buy extended reporting (tail) coverage.

What is a retroactive date on a claims-made policy?

The earliest date work can have been done and still be covered. Work before it is excluded even if the claim arrives this year, so keep it unchanged when you renew or switch carriers.

Do defense costs reduce my policy limit?

On some policies they do. If defense costs are inside the limit, legal fees are paid out of the same amount that would pay a settlement, leaving less than the headline limit. Many policies pay defense in addition to the limit.

How do I know if my limits meet a client contract?

Contracts often ask for $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, sometimes with umbrella coverage. Enter your contract's required limits on this page and it compares them with the limits it reads from your policy.

What does a professional services exclusion mean?

A general liability policy with this exclusion does not pay claims that your advice, design or professional work was wrong. Consultants, designers, agencies and software firms usually need separate professional liability (E&O) coverage.

Does this replace an insurance broker?

No. It reads wording with fixed rules, shows the sentence each value came from, and lists questions buyers commonly ask a broker. It does not say what a claim would pay.

Is my policy uploaded anywhere?

No. The text is read in your browser and nothing is sent; a test in the code asserts there are no network calls.
