EBAY PROMOTED LISTINGS ROI ANALYZER · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

Which of your eBay ads lose money?

Drop in your Promoted Listings report and see, listing by listing, the profit after ad fees and the share of sales the ad had to actually cause for the fee to pay off. eBay's report gives you sales and fees; it never subtracts what the item cost you.

1. Your Promoted Listings report

Seller Hub → Marketing → Reports → Promoted Listings, listing-level CSV. Needs a listing ID or title, a Sales column and an Ad fees column; impressions, clicks, quantity sold and campaign are used when present. Several rows for one listing are added together.

After item cost, eBay fees and shipping you pay. Only you know this; try a few values.

eBay credits the ad with any sale after a promoted click. Your guess, not a measurement.

Choose a file or paste CSV text, then click Analyze.

Common questions

Where do I get the Promoted Listings report?

In Seller Hub go to Marketing, then Reports, and download the Promoted Listings report at listing level for a date range. Drop the CSV here or paste its text. Column names vary a little between campaign types, so the tool matches common spellings and tells you if it cannot find a Sales or Ad fees column.

Why does it ask for my profit margin?

eBay's report shows sales and ad fees but not what the item cost you. Profit before ads is your margin times sales, so every verdict depends on that one number. Use profit as a share of the sale price after item cost, eBay's fees and shipping you pay. If you do not know it, try 15, 25 and 35 and see which listings change verdict.

What does 'must have been caused by the ad' mean?

eBay credits an ad with a sale when the buyer clicked the promoted listing before buying. Some of those buyers would have bought anyway. The tool shows, per listing, the share of attributed sales that must really come from the ad for the fee to pay for itself. Above 100% means it loses money even if the ad caused every sale.

Does it tell me what ad rate to set?

It shows the largest ad rate your margin can carry and which listings are above it. It cannot predict how a lower rate changes impressions, because that depends on competitors, so treat it as where to look and test one change at a time.

Is this financial advice?

No. It applies arithmetic to the file and margin you provide and does not replace your own records or a qualified adviser.
