1. Your Transaction report
Seller Central → Reports → Payments → Date Range Reports → Generate → Download CSV (the Transaction view with columns like “date/time”, “type”, “sku”, “selling fees”, “fba fees”, “total”). A few summary lines above the header are fine.
Choose a file or paste CSV text, then click Analyze. You can type costs into the SKU table afterwards too.

The model, and what it leaves out
- Per SKU, “Amazon paid you” is the sum of the file’s total column over that SKU’s Order and Refund rows, so it reconciles to the report line by line. Sales, promotions, referral fees, FBA fees and refunds are the same rows split by column.
- Profit is that amount minus unit cost × net units (units sold − refunded, if refunded units are restocked; otherwise every unit sold). A SKU without a cost has no profit shown.
- Account-level rows (advertising, subscription, storage and inventory fees, claims, reimbursements) are grouped by their description. Bank transfers are payouts and are excluded.
- Refund fee kept matches each refund to its order by order id and sums the referral fee not returned.
- Not modelled: inbound freight and prep, packaging, sales tax and income tax, returns not yet processed, fees outside the exported period, multi-currency conversion, and any cost you have not entered.
Common questions
Can I see profit per SKU from the Amazon Transaction report without paying for a seller tool?
Yes. In Seller Central go to Reports, Payments, Date Range Reports (or Reports Repository, Transaction), generate the CSV for the period and drop it here. The tool adds up each SKU's sales, referral fees, FBA fees, refunds and promotions from the file, then subtracts the unit cost you enter. Nothing is uploaded; the file is read in your browser.
Where do the unit costs come from?
You. Amazon's report has what Amazon paid you, not what your products cost. Type a cost per unit next to each SKU or paste lines like SKU,cost. Profit is left blank for a SKU without a cost rather than counted as free.
What counts as account-level cost?
Rows in the report that are not tied to a sale: advertising charges, the seller subscription, FBA storage, aged-inventory, removal and placement fees, claims and reimbursements. Transfers to your bank are payouts and are not counted as a cost.
How is the refund administration fee worked out?
When an order is refunded, Amazon returns the referral fee less an administration fee. The tool matches each refund row to its order row by order id and reports the referral fee that was not returned. Orders whose original sale is outside the file's date range cannot be matched and are left out.
What does the tool not see?
Cost of goods you have not entered, inbound shipping to Amazon, prep and packaging, taxes and income tax, returns Amazon has not yet processed, sales tax handling, and any fee outside the period you exported. Treat the result as an estimate from the file, not your books.
Is this financial advice?
No. It applies arithmetic to the file you provide and does not replace your own records or a qualified adviser.
