← Back to the Poshmark fee calculator
Poshmark publishes one schedule with two rules, not a single percentage. Sales under $15.00 pay a flat $2.95 fee. Sales of $15.00 or more pay 20% of the sale price. That is a real cliff — the whole price is taxed under whichever rule applies, not just the part above $15 — and it is why "Poshmark takes 20%" is only true above the line.
commission = price < $15.00 ? $2.95 : 20% × price
payout = price − commission
Poshmark's flat buyer-paid shipping fee is not part of this at all — it funds a prepaid label and Poshmark takes no commission on it, unlike a marketplace that commissions the checkout total.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale price | $50.00 |
| Commission (20% of $50) | $10.00 |
| Payout | $40.00 |
This is the number on Poshmark's own "How Selling Works" page: sell for $50, keep $40.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale price | $10.00 |
| Commission (flat fee, under $15) | $2.95 |
| Payout | $7.05 |
| Effective rate | 29.5% |
29.5%, not 20% and not "a small flat fee." The cheaper the item, the worse this gets: a $5 item pays $2.95 on a $5 sale — an effective 59% rate.
Twenty percent of $14.75 is exactly $2.95. That makes $14.75 the price where the flat fee and the percent rate cost the same. Above $14.75 (and still under $15.00) the flat fee is a bargain against 20%. Below $14.75 the flat fee costs more than 20% would, and the gap widens fast as price drops — which matters most for jewelry, accessories, and other low-price closet items where $2.95 is a large share of the sale.
| Sale price | Tier | Commission | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| $14.99 | Flat | $2.95 | $12.04 |
| $15.00 | 20% | $3.00 | $12.00 |
One cent of price crossing the $15.00 line is worth four cents of payout — in the seller's favor, at the lower price. See is a lower offer worth it on Poshmark? for what this means when you are negotiating an offer or a bundle discount near the line.
The Poshmark fee calculator runs this same arithmetic on your own sale price, item cost, and prep cost, and solves for the price you need to hit a target profit. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Poshmark's own published example: a $50 item pays 20% commission, which is $10.00, leaving a $40.00 payout. That is the standard rate for any sale of $15.00 or more.
$2.95 — the flat fee that applies under $15.00, regardless of how far under. On a $10 item that is a 29.5% effective rate, well above the 20% rate that applies at $15 and up.
$14.75. Twenty percent of $14.75 is exactly $2.95, the flat fee. Above $14.75 (and below $15) the flat fee is cheaper than 20% would be. Below $14.75 the flat fee costs more than 20% would, and the gap widens the cheaper the item gets.
