FOR INDEPENDENT FIRE-EXTINGUISHER & LIFE-SAFETY INSPECTION ROUTES

Unit count lies. Profit per site doesn't.

A site with "18 extinguishers on the schedule" can still be a break-even stop once recharge, hydro-test, and replacement materials, tags, drive time, and your recordkeeping cost come out. This free calculator finds real monthly profit for one customer site, then rolls your whole route up into a number you can check against your income goal.

This is a planning floor from the numbers you typed, not an audited statement. It does not determine or certify whether an extinguisher or site meets NFPA 10 or any other fire-code requirement, and it does not add insurance, licensing, or a slow-season adjustment unless you fold those into recordkeeping cost or target rate yourself.

Your route this month

For each site, run it through the calculator above and enter its monthly profit here. Blank or zero rows are ignored. Nothing you type here is saved or uploaded — refreshing the page clears it.

Everything on this page runs in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. Your visit inputs (extinguisher count, fees, recharge/hydro-test/replacement percentages, drive time, mileage) and your target monthly income are saved locally on this device so you don't retype them next time — Reset to defaults clears them, and Copy shareable link puts them in a URL fragment your browser never sends anywhere. Your site rows are a different promise: they are never saved anywhere, and closing or refreshing the tab clears them. There is no account. We count only anonymous local feature events (site-priced, route-check, link-copied, reset) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no site names, fees, or unit counts are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.

Not sure a small site is worth keeping?

A 6-extinguisher stop can clear $89.93 on the day you service it and still lose money over the year, because the certified visit happens once and the recordkeeping bills every month. How many extinguishers make a site worth servicing? works through where break-even actually falls and which levers move it.

Common questions

Why does the inspection fee alone not tell me whether a site is worth keeping?

Because the inspection fee only covers the guaranteed part of the visit. Whether the visit is actually profitable depends on how many units need a recharge, are due for hydrostatic testing, or fail and get replaced — each of which carries its own materials cost against its own fee — plus the drive time and mileage to reach the site at all.

Does this tool tell me whether an extinguisher or a site passes inspection?

No. This calculator only prices your own labor, materials, and route economics from numbers you supply. It does not perform, certify, or replace a professional fire-extinguisher inspection, and it does not determine or record NFPA 10 (or any other) compliance status.

Why is this priced per year instead of per month like some of your other route calculators?

Because certified fire-extinguisher maintenance is almost always an annual visit under NFPA 10, not a monthly one — the customer's own staff does a monthly visual check. This calculator prices one certified visit, then spreads that visit's profit over the year to get a monthly figure you can compare against sites serviced more than once a year.

Does anything about my sites or pricing get uploaded?

No. Every field on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and the site list you type into the route section is never saved anywhere — it exists only in the page while it is open. The visit inputs above and the target monthly income setting are different: those are saved locally on this device, so you don't retype them, and a shareable link can carry them to another device. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off with the button above.
