DOG GROOMING PRICE CALCULATOR · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER

Which dog classes pay your hourly rate, and which ones underpay?

For independent salon and mobile groomers. Enter each breed class with its base price and the minutes it really takes, plus matting and de-shedding extras, drive time, supplies and your no-show rate. See the effective hourly per class, the price needed to hit your target and a walk-away price. Paste past appointments and see which classes underpay.

Your numbers, not market rates and not advice. This page knows no going rates and gives no business, tax or legal advice: every price, minute and percentage is a number you type. Nothing is uploaded: the inputs are used in this browser tab only.

1. Your rate and costs

Prefer a CLI?

Same logic, zero dependencies, one command:

node cli.mjs compare classes.csv --target 60 --drive 20
node cli.mjs audit appointments.csv --target 60 --json

Get cli.mjs and engine.mjs — Node 18+, nothing to install, no network call. More: How to price dog grooming by breed and time.

The answer is exact for the numbers you type. It does not know going rates, your local market, or how a client will react to a price.

Common questions

Is this a market rate or professional advice?

No. Every price, minute and percentage is a number you typed. It does not look up what other groomers charge. It does the arithmetic on your own time so you can see what each breed class earns you per hour.

Why does a big dog earn less per hour than a small one?

Often the price rises more slowly than the minutes. A giant breed can take over three times the table time of a small smooth coat for under three times the price, and matting or de-shedding minutes are frequently covered by a surcharge that is too small. The calculator shows each class plain and with each extra.

Does it upload my appointments?

No. The browser page works on the text you enter, in your own browser, and never sends it anywhere. The CLI reads a local file or stdin and makes no network call.

How is the effective hourly calculated?

(Price - supplies) x (1 - no-show rate) / ((minutes + drive minutes) / 60). The price for target solves that for the price. The walk-away price does the same at a floor rate, a percent of your target.
