FOR INDEPENDENT CATASTROPHE (CAT) CLAIMS ADJUSTERS

A good per-claim rate can still be a bad trip.

A fee schedule that pays $550 a claim reads well right up until the estimating-software, lodging, per diem, vehicle cost, and the unpaid days spent driving to and from the disaster zone come out. This free calculator finds real net profit for one deployment, then lets you compare two or three IA firms' offers by what they actually pay per hour — not their headline per-claim rate.

This is a planning floor from the numbers you typed, not an audited statement. It does not determine your licensing, appointment, or authority to handle a claim in any state, and it does not evaluate an IA firm's reputation, payment timeliness, or claim-volume promises.

Compare fee schedules

For each IA firm's offer, run it through the calculator above with that firm's numbers and enter the resulting net profit here. Blank or zero rows are ignored. Nothing you type here is saved or uploaded — refreshing the page clears it.

Everything on this page runs in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. Your deployment inputs (days, pace, fee schedule, daily costs) are saved locally on this device so you don't retype them next time — Reset to defaults clears them, and Copy shareable link puts them in a URL fragment your browser never sends anywhere. Your fee-schedule comparison rows are a different promise: they are never saved anywhere, and closing or refreshing the tab clears them. There is no account. We count only anonymous local feature events (deployment-priced, offers-compared, link-copied, reset) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no firm names, fees, or deployment figures are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.

Fee schedule looks fine on paper — is it actually worth it?

A $550-a-claim offer can still pay under $3 an hour once a slow pace and the full trip's costs are netted out. Is this CAT adjuster fee schedule worth it? works through the arithmetic on a real lowball offer next to a solid one.

Common questions

Why does the per-claim fee alone not tell me whether a deployment is worth it?

Because the per-claim fee only pays for claims you actually close, and closing them depends on a pace you cannot fully control. Meanwhile estimating-software, lodging, per diem, vehicle, and mileage cost accrue every day you are away from home, including the unpaid travel days spent driving to and from the disaster zone before your first claim closes. A fee schedule can look generous per claim and still pay a low effective hourly rate once the full trip's costs and a realistic pace are netted out.

Does this tool tell me whether I'm licensed or appointed to work a deployment?

No. This calculator only prices your own deployment economics from numbers you supply. It does not determine your licensing, appointment, or authority to handle a claim in any state, and it does not evaluate an IA firm's reputation, timeliness of payment, or claim-volume promises -- verify those independently before accepting a deployment.

Why do unpaid travel days count toward the cost but not the claims?

Because that is what actually happens on a deployment: you are paying for lodging, food, your estimating-software subscription, and your vehicle on the days you drive to and from the disaster zone, but you are not closing claims on those days. Leaving travel days out of the cost side is the most common way a deployment's real profit gets overstated.

Does anything about my deployment or fee schedule get uploaded?

No. Every field on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and the fee-schedule offers you type into the comparison table are never saved anywhere -- they exist only in the page while it is open. The deployment inputs above are different: those are saved locally on this device, so you don't retype them, and a shareable link can carry them to another device. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off with the button above.
