FULFILLMENT DECISION TOOL
Does long-term storage flip a 3PL quote?
The signed rate card usually prices every pallet at the fresh-storage line. Leftover that sits past 30–90 days often moves onto a long-term surcharge. Hold the rest of the quote still. The first table compares the quote as written, leftover at that surcharge, and liquidating leftover now. The second table raises leftover pallet count until the aged path loses to in-house.
| Path | Leftover | Storage line | 3PL total | vs quote as written | Winner |
|---|
| Leftover pallets | Surcharge | 3PL total | True cost / order | vs in-house | Winner |
|---|
Figures are calculated locally from the assumptions above.
