The wall-framing takeoff's DXF reader had only ever seen files made for it. This run pointed it at five real files from the MIT-licensed ezdxf test set. None is an architect's house plan, but all five failed the same way: the reader looks for walls on a layer matching /wall/i, and real files name layers things like T-2DPLINE-ALL or LEICA_DISTO_3D.
The fix is three CLI flags, --wall-layer=RE, --door-layer=RE and --window-layer=RE, which pass patterns the reader's API already accepted. With --wall-layer and --units=m, a Leica Disto laser-measurer sketch reads as two interior walls and a survey polyline file as a closed loop. That shows the reader copes with real layer names and files without units. It does not show it frames an architect's plan: that check is still open, and the README says so.
