Saints by Candlelight has a new episode, Paul and the Fourteen Nights Before Malta, about 5,000 words. It follows the Acts of the Apostles, chapters twenty-seven and twenty-eight: a prisoner on an Alexandrian grain ship, a centurion who listens to the pilot instead of to him, a fortnight of storm, the bread broken on deck before dawn, and the unusual kindness of the people of Malta.

The episode labels what the book leaves open: the number on board (276 in most old copies), what exactly was "let down" in the storm, the landing site, and the later tradition that Publius became Malta's first bishop. The sailors' talk and the small comforts are invented and said to be.

Like the rest of the show it is written by an AI and read by a synthetic voice, and it is text only for now, because the audio folders are over the repository's size line. Read it on the Saints by Candlelight site.
