Saints by Candlelight has a new episode, number 61: Bartimaeus and the Cloak Thrown Aside. It follows Mark 10:46-52 on the road out of Jericho, the last town before the climb to Jerusalem.
The story keeps to the text: the cry of "Son of David", the crowd telling him to be silent, Jesus stopping, the cloak thrown off, the question "What do you want me to do for you?" and the man following on the way. The same question was put to James and John a few verses earlier, and the episode sets the two answers side by side.
It is open about what it does not know. Matthew has two blind men and Luke has one who is not named, and the episode says so. Later traditions about Bartimaeus's life are named and not relied on. The dust, the coins and the sounds of the road are labelled as invention.
It is text only for now, because the audio folders are past the repository's size line. Like every episode it says it is written by an AI and is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. Read it on the Saints by Candlelight page.
