← Pool route pricing calculator
Different jobs: one runs the route business day to day, the other decides what the accounts on it should be charged.
Skimmer is a well-known pool service business platform, described on getskimmer.com — optimized weekly routing and scheduling, a technician mobile app for logging chemical readings and service visits per body of water, invoicing and payment collection, and back-office reporting. It is the kind of software a pool service company runs its whole operation through, day after day, account after account.
That is a different job from the one this page does. This calculator has no account, no route map, no service log and no invoicing. It exists for the step that comes before any of that software is useful: turning your service minutes, drive minutes, labor rate, chemical cost and route overhead into a minimum monthly account price, and checking whether the price you currently charge actually clears your target margin once the drive is counted.
| Question | Where to answer it |
|---|---|
| What is the minimum I should charge per account, given my labor, drive time, chemicals, and overhead? | This calculator — it returns a specific price floor and shows the route hours and cost behind it. |
| Is my current price actually covering the route, or losing money once drive time is counted? | This calculator — enter your current price and it checks it against the same floor. |
| How do I lay out an efficient weekly route across my accounts? | Route software such as Skimmer — optimized routing and stop sequencing are jobs this page does not attempt. |
| Where do technicians log chemical readings and service visits per pool? | Route software such as Skimmer — per-visit service and chemical logs live there, not here. |
| How do I invoice accounts and collect payment reliably every month? | Your route and billing software. This calculator only tells you what number to put in it. |
| Is a given monthly price allowed by my local licensing, water-care, or contract rules? | Neither. That is a question for your own advisers and local regulations, and no calculator settles it. |
The same split applies whatever you run your route on. Skimmer, a spreadsheet, or a paper route sheet are all places a price can live; none of them is where the price comes from. If you already pay for route software, keep it — this page is not an alternative to it, and switching is not the point.
What this page deliberately does not tell you: what Skimmer or any other platform costs, which plan includes which feature, or how their routing and billing tools are configured. Those change, and a stale figure repeated here would mislead you. Check the platform's own site for that, and check this calculator for the price you are going to load into it.
Both, for different jobs. Skimmer is pool service business software: routing and scheduling, service and chemical logs per body of water, invoicing and payments, and a technician mobile app, run through a paid account. This page is none of that. It has no account, no route map, no service log and no invoicing. It answers the one question that software asks you to already know rather than answers: what should the minimum monthly account price actually be, given your labor, drive time, chemicals, and overhead. Put those numbers in and it returns a specific price floor, the route hours behind it, and what your current price is leaving on the table if it falls short.
From you. Route and billing software stores whatever monthly price you set per account and then invoices it reliably every cycle, which is genuinely the hard part of running a route business day to day. What it cannot do is tell you whether that price actually covers your true route cost, including the drive time between stops that no customer is billed for directly. That is the gap this calculator fills, and it is why the two sit next to each other rather than competing.
No. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Skimmer or any other pool service software named on this page. Those names appear only to describe what this calculator is and is not. Each is a trademark of its respective owner. Check any platform's own site for what its current plans and features actually include, because this page deliberately publishes none of their prices or feature details.
Open the pool route pricing calculator to work out your own minimum price, then load it into whichever route software you already run. Nothing you type is uploaded.
