What it does, and what it leaves to you
- Counts: paid days = working days x (1 - lost share); day revenue needed = (fixed costs + target income) / paid days; a stop is charged its share of the working day (minutes / working minutes) of that revenue; trip charge = share for drive and setup + vehicle cost per mile x miles; per-job rate = share for the work minutes + parts cost (markup only splits each job into parts and labor; it does not change the total); both divided by (1 - card fee).
- Not decided: what the market pays, business licence and insurance terms, sales tax on labor or parts, how you handle emergency or after-hours calls, client travel zones, and how a mix of a mix of diagnosis-only and repair jobs changes minutes per job.
Common questions
How do I price mobile mechanic work?
Work out the income you need per working day (yearly fixed costs plus the take-home you want, over the days you actually work), then charge each stop for the share of the day it uses. Drive and setup time is the same for one job as for four, so it belongs in a trip charge; the minutes and parts per job make the per-job rate.
Why charge a trip fee as well as a price per job?
A one-job stop uses nearly as much of the day as a three-job stop. A flat rate per job that pays on a big visit loses money on a single-job call. The page shows both the trip charge and the per-job rate, and the price for each stop size.
What are lost days?
Weather, customer no-shows, waiting on parts and van trouble all cost working days while fixed costs continue. Enter the share you lose and the page spreads fixed costs over the days that remain.
Does it know what other mobile mechanics charge?
No. It works backwards from your costs and the income you want. Compare the result with local mobile mechanics before you publish a rate.

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent; a test in the code asserts there are no network calls.
