LOT SPLIT CALCULATOR · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER

Sell the lot whole, or split it?

A buyer offers one price for the whole estate, storage unit or pallet. Listing the items one by one looks like more money until fees, shipping and your own hours come out. Paste the lines and the offer and see what splitting really nets, which lines are worth listing and which should go in bulk, and the hourly value of your time at which you should just take the offer.

For resellers, estate liquidators, storage-unit buyers and pallet flippers. Nothing is uploaded: the text box is analysed in this browser and never leaves your device.

Prefer a CLI?

Same logic, zero dependencies, one command — reads a file or stdin:

node cli.mjs split lot.csv --offer 260 --cost 150 --rate 15
cat lot.csv | node cli.mjs split - --json

Get cli.mjs and engine.mjs — Node 18+, nothing to install, no network call. More: Should you sell a bulk lot whole or split it? The math.

InputHandling

The answer is exact for the numbers you type. Sales tax, storage and holding time, returns, and the chance a buyer renegotiates the offer are not modelled; enter costs as they will really cost you.

Common questions

Does it upload my lot list?

No. The browser page works on the text you paste, in your own browser, and never sends it anywhere. The CLI reads a local file or stdin and makes no network call.

Why would I sell some items in bulk instead of listing them?

Low-value items can cost more in fees, shipping and your time than they bring. A $4 jar that takes three minutes to list and ship nets less listed than sold on to a liquidator. The tool compares the two for every line.

Is the answer guaranteed to be best?

It is the exact best list-or-bulk choice for the numbers you typed, checked in the tests against every possible combination. Prices and sell-through are your estimates, so it is a decision aid, not a forecast.

What is the break-even hourly rate?

The value of an hour of your time at which the whole-lot offer and your best split earn the same. If your time is worth more than that, take the offer.
