Discogs charges sellers a 9% selling fee on the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays, with a $0.10 minimum and a $150 maximum per order. Listing is free. The rate rose from 8% to 9% on May 22, 2023. On top of that, payment processing comes out of each order. Discogs does not publish one processing rate for every seller, so the examples below use 2.9% + $0.30 as an assumption; replace it with the figure on your own payout statement in the calculator.
selling fee = 9% × (item price + buyer-paid shipping), limited to $0.10–$150
processing = rate × (item price + buyer-paid shipping) + flat fee
payout = item price + buyer-paid shipping − selling fee − processing − your own postage cost
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Item price | $50.00 |
| Selling fee (9% of $50.00) | $4.50 |
| Processing (2.9% of $50.00 + $0.30) | $1.75 |
| Reaches you, before postage and cost | $43.75 |
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Item price | $20.00 |
| Buyer-paid shipping | $6.00 |
| Combined | $26.00 |
| Selling fee (9% of $26.00) | $2.34 |
| Processing (2.9% of $26.00 + $0.30) | $1.05 |
| Reaches you, before postage and cost | $22.61 |
The selling fee is $2.34, not $1.80 (9% of the $20 item alone). Because the fee follows the total, moving money between the price and the shipping line changes nothing: what moves your profit is the total the buyer pays and what the label actually costs you.

A 9% selling fee of $4.50, plus payment processing. At an assumed 2.9% + $0.30 processing that is $1.75 more, so about $43.75 reaches you before postage and what you paid for the record.
Yes. The 9% applies to the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays. A $20 record with $6 shipping pays 9% of $26, which is $2.34, not 9% of $20.
The selling fee is at least $0.10 and at most $150 per order. The cap is reached at an order total of about $1,667.
