Cloud Egress Cost Calculator
Compare the real monthly cost of an S3-compatible workload. Storage is only one line item: requests and outbound data transfer can decide the migration.
Bring your own price sheet. Enter the rates you were quoted. This tool does not fetch provider pricing or claim a provider's current prices.
Does a CDN still cut S3 egress? — cache hits vs origin-only on the same download volume.
Does a replica still beat a cross-region pull? — seed plus storage vs paying transfer every month.
Does infrequent access still beat standard after restore? — cheaper storage vs retrieve fees on one store.

Common questions
How much does S3 egress cost?
Egress is billed per gigabyte of outbound transfer at the rate on your current price sheet. On the default 500 GB stored, 2 million requests, and 100 GB outbound example, a $0.023 / $0.40 / $0.09 sheet is $21.30 per month. An alternative at $0.006 / $0.36 / $0.00 is $3.72. The $17.58 gap is $210.96 per year. Paste your quoted rates; this page does not fetch provider prices.
Does a cheaper storage rate still win after egress?
Only when outbound transfer is low enough. If cheap storage has a higher egress rate, the page shows the break-even outbound volume. Above that volume the other option is cheaper. The comparison is arithmetic from the rates you enter, not a migration recommendation.
What outbound volume is the break-even point?
The volume where storage-and-request savings and the egress-rate gap cancel out: below it the cheaper-storage, pricier-egress option wins; above it, the other one does. Example: 500 GB stored and 2 million requests at $0.006/GB-month storage, $0.36/million requests, and $0.09/GB egress totals $9.12/month at 60 GB outbound — cheaper than $0.023/$0.40/$0 storage's $12.30. Push outbound to 150 GB and the same cheap-egress sheet totals $17.22, more than the $12.30 alternative. The crossover on this pair is 95.33 GB/month; the page computes it for whatever rates and workload you enter.
Does this include migration cost or contract minimums?
No. The monthly total is storage, request, and egress charges only — it does not add a one-time data-transfer-out fee for the move itself, a minimum monthly commitment your contract may require, or the engineering time to actually migrate. Check your price sheet and contract for those before deciding on this number alone.
