BOOKING REQUEST CHOOSER · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER

Which booking requests should you accept?

Two requests want the same week and one pays more. Or a 2-night request would leave a 1-night hole nobody can book. Paste your confirmed bookings and pending requests and see the exact set to accept for the most income, counting turnover cost, the dead gap nights each choice leaves, and counter-offers (a night earlier or later) worth sending the guests you would otherwise decline.

For hosts of vacation rentals, cabins, campsites, B&Bs, boats and event spaces. Nothing is uploaded: the text box is analysed in this browser and never leaves your device.

Prefer a CLI?

Same logic, zero dependencies, one command — reads a file or stdin:

node cli.mjs plan calendar.csv --turnover 60 --night-value 50 --min-stay 3
cat calendar.csv | node cli.mjs plan - --json

Get cli.mjs and engine.mjs — Node 18+, nothing to install, no network call. More: Which booking request should you accept? The gap-night math.

What's recognised

InputHandling

The plan is exact for the numbers you type (dynamic programming over the gaps between confirmed bookings). Nights before the first and after the last stay in your paste are not counted. Platform fees, taxes, seasonal price changes and cancellations are not modelled; enter prices net of fees if you want a net result.

Common questions

Does it upload my bookings?

No. The browser page works on the text you paste, in your own browser, and never sends it anywhere. The CLI reads a local file or stdin and makes no network call.

Why would I decline a request that pays well?

A stay that leaves one or two nights between it and the next booking creates a gap shorter than your minimum stay that nobody can book. Those nights earn nothing, so a lower-priced pair of stays that fit end to end can earn more than one high-priced stay that strands them.

What is the empty-night value?

Your own estimate of what a leftover night you can still sell is worth: your usual nightly price times how often leftover nights actually fill. Set it to zero to ignore gaps and only compare prices less turnover cost.

Is the plan guaranteed to be best?

It is the exact best answer for the numbers you typed, found by dynamic programming and checked against trying every combination in the tests. The numbers themselves are your estimates, so the result is a decision aid, not a forecast.

Does it work for things other than short-term rentals?

Yes for anything sold by the night with a minimum stay and a changeover cost: bed and breakfasts, cabins, campsites, boat and RV rentals, vacation homes and event spaces booked by the day.
