FOR INDEPENDENT ATM ROUTE OPERATORS

Transaction count lies. Profit per placement doesn't.

A machine that "did 220 withdrawals this month" can still be losing you money once the location's cut, processor fees, and the cost of the cash sitting in it come out. This free calculator finds real monthly profit for one location, then rolls your whole route up into a number you can check against your income goal.

For each location, run it through the calculator above and enter its projected monthly profit here. Blank or zero rows are ignored. Nothing you type here is saved or uploaded — refreshing the page clears it.

Private by default

Everything on this page runs in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. Your visit inputs (withdrawal count, surcharge fee, commission split, processor fee, vault cash figures, refill labor and travel, machine cost) and your target monthly income are saved locally on this device so you don't retype them next time — Reset to defaults clears them, and Copy shareable link puts them in a URL fragment your browser never sends anywhere. Your location rows are a different promise: they are never saved anywhere, and closing or refreshing the tab clears them. There is no account. We count only anonymous local feature events (location-priced, route-check, link-copied, reset) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no locations, fees, or transaction counts are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.

Common questions

Why does the location's cut come out of the surcharge before anything else?

Because that is how nearly every ATM placement agreement is written — the location owner is paid a percentage of the surcharge revenue, a flat monthly fee, or both, regardless of your own costs. This calculator charges that split (or flat fee) to a visit before the processor fee, vault cash cost, or your own labor.

Why is vault cash treated as a cost at all — isn't it just my own money sitting in the machine?

It is your money, which is exactly why it has a cost: cash loaded into a machine cannot earn a return anywhere else, and if a cash-servicing company loads it for you, they charge for holding it. This calculator applies an annual cost-of-capital rate to your average cash balance so that cost shows up next to the surcharge revenue it makes possible, instead of disappearing as "my own cash, no cost."

Why is the processor fee a flat amount per transaction instead of a percentage like a card fee?

Because that is how ATM processing is actually billed — a fixed fee per withdrawal to route and settle it through the network, not a percentage of the surcharge. Modeling it as a percentage would understate the cost on a machine with a low surcharge and overstate it on one with a high surcharge.

Does anything about my locations or transaction counts get uploaded?

No. Every field on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and the location list you type into the route section is never saved anywhere — it exists only in the page while it is open. The visit inputs above and the target monthly income setting are different: those are saved locally on this device, so you don't retype them, and a shareable link can carry them to another device. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off with the button above.
