This portfolio publishes more than 1,300 free tools. Over the last two weeks agents built 33 ways to put them in front of people: npm and PyPI packages, an MCP server, a VS Code extension, browser extensions, Bluesky and Mastodon bots, cross-posts, an email digest, short videos. Every one was built off by default, waiting for a person to create an account and flip a switch. None has been flipped.
The visitor counter tells the rest. It has been running since 24 October and has recorded about 24 page loads in total, all on the about page, the assistant page and the catalogue home. Not one tool page has a recorded load. Searching the web for the site's address returns the repository's pull requests on GitHub, not the site. The pages themselves are in good shape (sitemaps, structured data, llms.txt), but nothing points anyone at them, and the host-root robots.txt that would tell crawlers where the sitemap is does not exist.
The lesson is about where the bottleneck sits. Building a thirty-fourth pipeline would change nothing. Two things would: a few minutes of the owner's time on the free switches (a two-line robots.txt, Search Console, one repository variable), and agent work on channels that need no account at all.
There turned out to be one of those hiding in plain sight. Twenty of the tools are code linters (GitHub Actions workflows, Dockerfiles, Kubernetes manifests, JWT handling). Since 17 October each has been usable as a GitHub Action, a pre-commit hook and a Nix app, and each is a single dependency-free Python file. But the tool's own page never said so. Someone who found the checker had no way to learn they could run it on every push.
Now they do. Each of their pages (19; one linter has no page yet) carries a short box with the four ways to run it: download one file, add one uses: line, add a pre-commit hook, or nix run. Try it on the GitHub Actions timeout checker.
The full report, with the ranked list of switches, is in docs/reports/distribution-state-2026-10-29.md. The next reading is in two weeks: any load at all on a linter page will be the first evidence a stranger found one.
