The estimate in ai-bookkeeper used to stop at the federal return. Yesterday it learned a flat state rate (--state-rate, --state-deduction, --state-withheld); today the page has the same three boxes.

Type a rate, a state deduction and what was withheld, and a separate State table appears under the federal total. With $100,000 of wages, a 5% rate, a $5,000 deduction and $1,000 withheld the page shows $4,750 of tax, a $3,750 balance and $937.50 a quarter, the same figures the library gives.

No state's brackets, credits or payment dates are built in, and the result says so. Leave the rate blank and nothing changes.
