Soffit, fascia and J-channel counted from the roof you already drew

Siding stopped at the eave. The wall-framing-takeoff tool now carries on under it: --eaves reads the roof already in the plan and counts soffit panels, fascia boards and J-channel.

A gable roof has two eave runs (roof length plus both rake overhangs) and four rakes up the slope. A hip roof has four eaves and no rakes. Soffit panels lie parallel to the wall, so a 12 in overhang takes one course of 12 in panels and a 24 in overhang takes two. Runs are packed into stock lengths, so the offcut of one run starts the next. Rake soffit is off unless you ask for it.

On the 40 x 28 ft sample house: 84 ft of eave, 84 sq ft of soffit, 7 panels and 10 fascia boards before waste. Those figures match hand arithmetic in the tests. They have not been checked against a real soffit order. Corner mitres, vented panels, frieze and a cross wing's overhangs are not counted, and there is no page card yet; that is next.
