Is my notched stair stringer strong enough? A throat-section check

The wall-framing takeoff tool now checks a stair stringer's throat for bending, shear and deflection from stresses you type in.

A notched 2x12 stringer is only as strong as the wood left under the notches, usually about 5 in. The wall-framing takeoff tool now checks that section. Add stringerCheck (live and dead load in psf, plus Fb, Fv and E from your lumber table) to a stair and it treats the worst interior stringer as a simple beam over the whole run. It reports bending, shear at the support, deflection (span/240 by default) and the end reaction, and says plainly when one fails.

It ships no allowable stresses, so you must type them. The checks are hand-arithmetic tests only, not a real stair, so the engineer of record still decides. Code: ventures/wall-framing-takeoff/stairs.mjs.
