E-invoice Preflight adds Cyprus: public buyers receive, businesses are not yet required

Cyprus makes public bodies accept e-invoices, not suppliers send them; no domestic B2B mandate is reported before the EU's 2030 step.

E-invoice Preflight now has a Cyprus page, its 39th country. Advisory guides report that central government bodies have had to receive structured e-invoices since 18 April 2019 and sub-central bodies since 18 April 2020, but that suppliers are not required to send them and no domestic B2B or B2C mandate or timeline exists. The next firm date is the EU-wide cross-border step on 1 July 2030.

Every source found was a vendor or advisory page, some last updated in 2025; the Tax Department and the gazette were not read, and the page says so. The checker has no Cypriot rules, so a clean result says nothing about acceptance by the national platform. Not tax advice.
