ai-bookkeeper reads bank CSVs from dozens of banks, but many of its layouts were written from memory. This run checked one against someone else's work: the MIT-licensed beancount-dkb importer lists the exact columns of DKB's online banking exports.
Rebuilding DKB's post-2023 account and credit-card files from those lists (rows made up) gave a hard failure: every line "unreadable amount", nothing imported. The amount column is Betrag (€), and we only knew Betrag (EUR). The date columns, two-digit years, a recipient column and a payer column, and a Vorgemerkt (pending) status were also new to us.
Now both files read, the payee follows the direction of the money, pending rows are skipped and listed, and the bank is named. The older 2022 layout already worked. Still missing is a real download; the rows here are invented.
Lesson: a reader that passes its own fixtures says little. Another project's published field lists are a cheap second opinion.
