REVIEW REPLY DESK · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED
Reply to every customer review in minutes
Paste your Google, Yelp or Facebook reviews and get a ready-to-post reply to each: matched to the stars, specific to what the customer said, and checked for the mistakes that turn one bad review into two. Risky reviews (legal threats, injury claims, health-privacy, possible fakes) are sorted to the top with a plain-English warning.
Paste at least one review, then click Write the replies.
3. Your replies
Optional: polish a reply with AI, on your own key
Off by default. If you add a key, only the one review you click Polish on is sent, straight from this browser to the provider you pick, never to us. The model's reply must pass the same checks as the built-in one, otherwise the built-in reply is kept and you are told. The key is kept only in this browser if you tick the box.
To keep everything on your own computer, run a model locally with Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp and pick it below: no key, no cost per use, and the text goes only to your machine. Name a model you have downloaded (for Ollama, ollama list shows them). The local server must allow this page: start Ollama with OLLAMA_ORIGINS=https://duncan-haywood.github.io set, or switch on CORS in LM Studio's server settings. Your browser may ask whether this site may reach devices on your network.
4. Ask your customers for reviews
Replies only go so far; more reviews come from asking everyone, the same way. Paste your review link, list your recent customers, and get a text, email or receipt line for each, checked for the things Google and the FTC penalise: offering a reward, asking only happy customers, asking for five stars, or a text with no opt-out. Only message people who gave you their number or email for that.
Your link and customer list are used only to build the messages here; nothing is sent until you tap a send link yourself.
Questions
How do I reply to a negative Google review?
Thank the reviewer, apologise for the experience without arguing or explaining it away, name one specific thing they raised, and move the conversation offline with a phone number or email. Keep it short, use their first name only, and do not offer a refund or ask them to change the review. Paste the review into Review Reply Desk and it writes a reply that follows those rules and checks the result.
Should I reply to every review, including five-star ones?
Yes, if you can keep it up. Replies to positive reviews are short thank-yous that name something specific, and a steady habit of replying is visible to people deciding whether to contact you. Paste a whole batch and the page drafts every reply, with the complaints and anything risky sorted to the top.
Is it legal to reply to a patient or client review?
Not in the way most owners expect. A health practice that confirms in public that a reviewer was a patient can disclose protected health information, even when the reviewer shared details themselves. When you choose Dental, medical or therapy practice, Review Reply Desk writes general-terms replies that confirm nothing, and its checker rejects any reply that refers to the reviewer's visit or care. This is not legal advice; ask your own adviser about your rules.
What do I do about a review that mentions a lawyer, an injury or a theft?
Do not argue and do not describe what happened. Reply with two short sentences that take it offline, investigate privately, and tell whoever advises your business before saying more. The page flags these reviews and writes a short offline reply that says nothing about the claim.
Can I ask the reviewer to change or remove their review?
Not in exchange for a refund, a discount or any other benefit, which platforms prohibit, and asking at all can read as pressure. Resolve the problem privately, then let the reviewer decide. The checker flags any reply that asks for a changed review.
What if the review looks fake?
Look the reviewer up in your own records first. If there is no match, report the review to the platform as not reflecting a real experience, and do not accuse the reviewer in public. The page flags reviews that say things like I have never been there so you can check before you reply.
Does it use AI, and is my data sent anywhere?
Only if you choose to. The reply writer works with no key, using rules and templates in your browser. If you add your own API key for Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, the single review you click Polish on is sent from your browser straight to that provider, never to us, and the model's reply is run through the same checks and replaced by the template if it fails them.
Can I offer a discount or gift for leaving a review?
No. Google's policy prohibits offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC's rule on fake and bought reviews also targets reviews procured for something of value. Do not ask only your happy customers either, which is called review gating and is also against Google's policy. Ask everyone, the same way, for honest feedback. The review request writer on this page checks every message for rewards, gating, requests for a particular rating and missing opt-out lines. This is not legal advice.
Is Review Reply Desk free?
Yes. There is no signup, no review limit and no watermark. It runs in your browser, so it costs nothing to serve. It is MIT-licensed open source you can host yourself.
