PATREON MEMBERS CHURN ANALYZER · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

Who is leaving your Patreon, and what is it costing you?

Drop in your Patreon Members export CSV and get active, declined and former patrons, monthly income by tier, churn by tenure cohort, the income at risk from declined payments, how concentrated it is, and what Patreon's fees leave you.

The file is read in this browser tab and never leaves your device. Independent of Patreon: not affiliated with or endorsed by Patreon, Inc. Column names are matched by alias from memory of Patreon exports; if yours is not read, the page tells you which rows were skipped and why. Patron names and emails in your file are not shown in the results except declined patrons you may want to contact.

1. Your Members export

Needs a Patron Status (or a Pledge amount) and ideally Patronage Since Date. Used when present: Tier, Pledge, Currently Paying $, Lifetime $, Last Charge Date, Last Charge Status, Charge Frequency, Name. Other columns (Email, Twitter, Country and so on) are ignored. US and day-first dates, comma, tab and semicolon files, quoted fields and UTF-16 exports are read. Rows that cannot be read are listed with a line number and reason.

Left blank, the latest date found in the file is used, so an old export is measured at the time it was taken.

2. Fee assumptions (edit these)

Assumptions, not Patreon's terms. Defaults: 10% platform fee (the standard plan for newer pages; legacy Lite, Pro and Premium pages differ) and 2.9% plus $0.30 payment processing per charge. Check them against your own plan and payout statement.

Common questions

How do I see how many Patreon patrons I am losing?

Export your Members list from Patreon (the Audience or Members page has an Export option) and drop the CSV here. The tool counts active, declined and former patrons, works out monthly recurring income from the active pledges, and shows how many patrons joined in each period and how many of them have left. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

What is a declined patron and can the money be recovered?

A declined patron is one whose latest card charge failed. They are still a member, so their pledge is shown as at-risk monthly income rather than lost. Patreon retries the charge and emails the patron; a short personal note asking them to update the card is often what recovers it. The tool lists these patrons and adds up what is at stake.

How is churn measured here?

Former patrons divided by everyone who ever paid, overall and for patrons grouped by how long ago they joined. It also shows survival: of the patrons who joined at least 1, 3, 6 or 12 months before the file's latest date, how many paid for that long. Groups under five patrons are shown but not used for suggestions.

Are the fee figures exact?

No. They apply the percentages you enter (defaults: 10% platform fee, 2.9% plus $0.30 processing per charge) to monthly-equivalent pledges. Your plan, country, currency conversion, taxes, payout method and chargebacks change the real figure, so check it against your own payout statement.

Are the column names right for my export?

They are matched by alias from memory of Patreon Members exports, and no real export was available when this was built. If your file is not read, the page names the rows it skipped and why; a sheet with the headers Patron Status, Tier, Pledge and Patronage Since Date always works.

Is this tax or financial advice?

No. It applies arithmetic to your file and the assumptions you enter. It is independent of Patreon and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Patreon, Inc.
