Which detailing jobs should you take today?

List the jobs people want booked, one per line: price, hours on site, how many minutes out from your shop, and supplies. You get the most profitable set that fits your day, your take-home per hour including the drive, and the price each job would need to earn what you want per hour.

Questions people ask

How much should a mobile detailer charge per hour?

It depends on the market, but the number to aim for is take-home per hour worked, not revenue per hour: price minus supplies and vehicle cost, divided by on-site time plus the drive. Many detailers quote by package and never see that the drive is unpaid time.

How does this tool plan the day?

It tries every combination of the jobs you list (up to 14), drops the ones that do not fit your hours, and picks the set with the most take-home profit. Drive is estimated as a round trip to the farthest job in the set.

Why is the drive estimate only an estimate?

It treats all jobs as sitting along one road out from your shop. A day that zigzags takes longer, and two jobs on one street take less. Use the extra-drive box to add a cushion.

Is this business or financial advice?

No. It is arithmetic on the numbers you type in and the assumptions listed on the page. Check the output against your own costs before you change a price or turn down a customer.

Customer value and repeat business, appointment windows and traffic, water and power access on site, weather, insurance, tax, and whether a low job is worth taking to win a regular customer. The drive model assumes jobs along one road out from your shop and counts one trip out and one back for the day.
