JSON-LD RICH RESULT VALIDATOR · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

Why isn't your structured data eligible for rich results?

Paste a page's HTML (or just a JSON-LD block). You get every entity found, the required properties that are missing, the recommended ones that would help, and fixes for the usual traps: prices with a $ sign, dates that are not ISO 8601, durations like “30 minutes”, an author written as a plain string. A second panel builds starter JSON-LD and checks it as you go.

Checks the markup you paste against Google's published requirements for Product, Article, LocalBusiness, Organization, Recipe, Event, JobPosting, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, SoftwareApplication, VideoObject. It does not fetch your page and cannot promise what Google will show. Not legal, tax, or financial advice.

1. Check your markup

Paste markup, then click Check markup.

2. Build starter markup

Fill in what you have; the checker below the output tells you what is still missing.

What is checked

Errors are missing required properties or values Google cannot read (a price of “$12”, an Event with no location). Warnings are recommended properties and format slips. Info is context, such as Google showing FAQ rich results only for government and health sites since August 2023.

Not covered: Microdata and RDFa, whether the markup matches the visible page (a Google requirement), whether the page is indexed, and rich result types not listed. Markup that passes here can still not be shown: Google decides. Unverified: rules were written from Google's public structured-data documentation and may lag changes; confirm anything important with Google's own tools.

Common questions

Why is my structured data not showing as a rich result in Google?

Valid markup is necessary but not sufficient. Google only shows a rich result when the markup has every required property, matches what is visible on the page, and the page is indexed and judged helpful. Paste your page here to find missing required properties, wrong price formats and bad dates first, then check the page is indexed. Google decides what to show and no tool can promise a rich result.

What are required and recommended properties?

Required properties must be present or the page is not eligible for that rich result. Recommended properties are not mandatory but give Google more to work with, so listings with them are more likely to be shown in full. This tool marks missing required properties as errors and missing recommended ones as warnings.

Does Google still show FAQ rich results?

Since August 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites. FAQPage markup on other sites is still valid schema.org and can be read by other search engines and assistants, but do not expect expandable answers in Google results.

What price format does Product markup need?

The price must be a plain number such as 12.50 with no currency symbol and no thousands separator, and the currency goes in priceCurrency as a three-letter ISO 4217 code such as USD. Values like $12.50 or 1,200 are the most common cause of an invalid Offer.

Should I use JSON-LD, Microdata or RDFa?

Google supports all three and recommends JSON-LD because it lives in one script block, separate from your visible HTML, and is easier to keep correct. This tool reads JSON-LD.

Is the HTML or JSON I paste uploaded anywhere?

No. Parsing and checking happen in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and there are no accounts, cookies or analytics vendors.
