The house
One row per distinct run. A 40-foot two-story rear is a different job from 40 feet of one-story garage screens — putting them on the same per-foot price is how a cheap quote loses money.
Your costs
Minutes per 10 linear feet is the one-story, open-gutter, leaf baseline your crew actually hits. Stories, pitch, guards, and debris multiply that figure. Visits per year of 2 is a spring-and-fall contract; 1 is a one-time clean.

Where the labor goes
Transparent arithmetic from your own inputs. The starting minutes and difficulty factors are common ballpark figures, not an industry standard, a benchmark, or a guarantee — time your own crews and replace them.
Hand the customer a proposal
The price above is for you. This is the page you print or save as a PDF and give to the customer — your details, their details, the scope, the deposit split, and a line for them to sign. Your business details are saved on this device so you only type them once; the customer’s details are never saved.
Everything on the printed page is text you typed or a number this calculator worked out. It contains no warranty, lien, or cancellation wording — those depend on your jurisdiction and your contract, and this tool is not the place to invent them.
Common questions
What does this gutter cleaning estimate include?
The visit price adds up loaded labor for every run you enter — linear feet, downspout flushing, and travel/setup — plus disposal, equipment, overhead, and your target margin, then applies a minimum stop charge if the raw price comes in under it. Nothing is a flat per-linear-foot rate.
Why do story, pitch, guards, and debris all multiply together?
Each run's difficulty factor is story × pitch × guards × debris, all against a one-story, low-pitch, open-gutter, leaf-only baseline. A two-story steep-pitch run behind micro-mesh screens clogged with needles can take several times longer per foot than that baseline — a flat per-foot quote cannot see that difference, which is exactly how it loses money.
Why do downspouts only inherit the story factor, not pitch, guards, or debris?
Flushing and testing a downspout is a separate task from clearing the trough. Pitch, guards, and debris change how hard the trough itself is to clear, so they don't apply to the downspout line — but a second-story leader still takes longer to reach and test, so the story factor does.
What's the difference between a one-time visit and a seasonal contract?
Visits per year controls this: 1 prices a single clean, and 2 or more multiplies that same visit price by the number of cleanings — typically a spring-and-fall contract — for the annual total shown at the bottom of the bid. Each visit is priced identically; the tool doesn't discount repeat visits on its own.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No account and no network requests — the calculator runs entirely in your browser. “Copy share link” encodes your runs and cost inputs into this page's own URL hash so a partner or the office can open the same bid; nothing is sent to a server. Only your business name and contact details for the printed proposal are kept in this browser's local storage, and “Forget my business details” clears them.
Does this check gutter damage, roof condition, or drainage?
No. Hours and difficulty factors are ballpark shop figures you can edit, not a roof or drainage inspection. Cleaning clears debris; it says nothing about sagging fascia, failing seams, undersized downspouts, or whether the runoff actually drains once it leaves them — that's a judgment call for the site visit, and the printed proposal says so too.
