1. Your trip history
Export from your driver app, a mileage app such as Gridwise or Everlance, or keep a sheet. Needs a Date (with a time for time-of-day results) and Earnings (or Fare, Pay, Total); Tip, Miles (or Distance), Minutes (or Duration, or Start and End times) and Platform are used when present. US and day-first dates, comma, tab and semicolon files, and UTF-16 exports are read. Rows that cannot be read are listed with a line number and reason.
The default 0.76 is the IRS business mileage rate in dollars per mile for trips from July 1, 2026 (72.5 cents applied January 1 to June 30, and 70 cents for 2025); the rate is reset most years, so enter the rate for your trip dates or your own real cost.

The model, and what it leaves out
- Income is earnings plus tip on each row (or the Total column minus the tip if there is no earnings column). Rows are trips or deliveries; total rows are skipped.
- Reconciles. The per-app, per-weekday and per-time rows each add up to the totals at the top.
- Vehicle cost is the miles on each trip, plus the extra-mile percentage you enter, times your cost per mile. Trips with no miles are charged nothing, and the page says how many.
- Net is income minus vehicle cost. Nothing else is subtracted.
- Per hour uses trip minutes, which exclude waiting between trips, unless you enter your total hours online for the period, which then drives the headline figure. Per-group rates use only trips that report minutes.
- Time of day and weekday are read from the file's own clock; no time zone conversion is applied. Groups with fewer than five trips are not ranked.
- Not modelled: taxes, phone, insurance and tolls beyond your cost per mile, trips you declined or were never offered, incentives paid separately, and anything not in the file.
Common questions
How do I find out what I really earn per hour driving for Uber, Lyft or DoorDash?
Export your trip or delivery history from the app (or keep a sheet with a date, earnings, tip, miles and minutes) and drop it here. The tool adds each trip's pay and tip, subtracts your cost per mile times the miles you drove, and divides by the hours. If you enter your total hours online it uses those, so waiting time between trips is counted. Nothing is uploaded; the file is read in your browser.
What cost per mile should I use?
Use your own number. The IRS standard mileage rate for business use is 72.5 cents per mile for 2026 through June 30 and 76 cents from July 1 (70 cents for 2025), and is reset most years, so check the current figure; it is a rate meant to cover gas, wear, depreciation and insurance. Your real cost may be lower in a hybrid or higher in an older truck. The tool applies whatever you enter and shows how much of your pay it takes.
Which platform, weekday and time of day pays best?
The tool groups your trips by app, weekday and time of day and shows net pay per trip hour and per mile for each group with at least five trips. Trip hours leave out waiting between trips, and busy hours often have more waiting, so use the ranking to decide what to test next rather than as proof.
What does it not know?
Time spent online with no trip, unpaid miles to reach a pickup (unless you add a percentage for them), taxes, phone and insurance costs beyond your cost per mile, and anything not in your file. It cannot see surge you declined or trips you were not offered.
Is this tax or financial advice?
No. It applies arithmetic to the file you provide and does not replace your own judgement or a qualified tax adviser. It is independent of Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and every other app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
